Lo que la vida me robo
Príbeh sa odohráva v malebnej dedine Aguazul, kde žije krásna dievčina z dobrej rodiny Montserrat. Dievčaťom neustále manipuluje jej matka Graciela Giacinto, ktorá za žiadnu cenu nechce stratiť svoje sociálne postavenie a vo svojej dcére vidí riešenie. Vyberie jej ideálneho manžela menom Sebastián de Icaza, ktorý je synom jednej z najvplyvnejších rodín v dedine. Láskou Montserrat je však desiatnik námorníctva José Luis, ktorý však tuší, že ho rodina Montserrat nikdy nepríjme.
Alejandro Almonte je mladý poľnohospodársky robotník, ktorý zisťuje, že jeho otcom je krutý, ale bohatý Don Benjamín Almonte, ktorý sa mu prizná na smrteľnej posteli. Montserrat zruší svoje zasnúbenie so Sebastianom, v ktorom videla Graciela možnosť vyriešenia zlej finančnej situácie. Nemieni sa však vzdať a pustí sa do hľadania nového nápadníka pre svoju dcéru. Dozvie sa, že práve Alejandro je dedičom Dona Benjamína a je tak ideálnym manželom pre Montserrat.
Graciela požiada Alejandra o finančnú pomoc, čo on príjme s jedinou podmienkou - že mu dovolí usilovať sa o Montserrat. Graciela návrh príjme a musí prisahať, že sa Montserrat o tejto dohode nedozvie. Graciela však objaví vzťah Montserrat s José Luisom a pretože nechce ohroziť sľubnú budúcnosť, zabezpečí, aby bol José Luis obvinený z vraždy, ktorú nespáchal. Je zatknutý a poslaný do väzenia.
Graciela prizná dcére pravdu o ekonomickej situácii rodiny a donúti ju vydať sa za Alejandra, aby pomohla svojej rodine. V tom sa objavuje José Luis. Lenže ... Je príliš neskoro, keďže Montserrat je manželkou Alejandra Almonte ...
